St. Blaise Church to host an­nual Har­vest Fair Oct. 20

BELLINGHAM – St. Blaise Church will hold its an­nual Har­vest Fair on Satur­day, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the parish hall, 1158 South Main St.

The an­nual fair will once again fea­ture Grandma’s At­tic, games, raf­fles, tasty treats, a 50/50 cash raf­fle and the themed dec­o­ra­tor “Bas­ket Game.” Avail­able for pur­chase at the Fair will be tick­ets for the Money Raf­fle and Lot­tery Tree Raf­fle, both draw­ings to be held on Sun­day, Nov. 25th, in the parish hall fol­low­ing 10 a.m. Mass. Win­ners need not be present.

New this year, is a Chili Cook-Off, to take place on the fol­low­ing day, Sun­day, Oct. 21, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., again in the parish hall. A reg­is­tra­tion form, avail­able from the parish of­fice, must be com­pleted and sub­mit­ted prior to the Cook-Off. En­trants should bring a 6-quart crock pot of heated chili to the parish hall by 10:30 a.m., along with a copy of the recipe. Space is lim­ited to the first 15 reg­is­trants. Chefs will not be al­lowed to serve their own chili, and all taste test­ing will be con­ducted blind. Come taste and cast your vote for the best chili in three cat­e­gories: Best Tast­ing, Hottest, and Best Non-Tra­di­tional. A cost of $5 to taste all en­tries, with a $20 fam­ily max, will ap­ply. St. Blaise Church has long been known for its ser­vice to the com­mu­nity. From the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, which serves Bellingham and sur­round­ing towns, to its many ac­tive min­istries, St. Blaise is an ac­tion-based, ser­vice -ori­ented parish com­mu­nity where all are wel­come.

All pro­ceeds from the Har­vest Fair will be used to fund the many pro­grams ad­min­is­tered by Saint Blaise Church that serve the parish and ex­tended com­mu­ni­ties.
