After designing 15 looks for her weeklong wedding, Naveda Couture’s Amy Devan takes her bridal label in a new direction.

Amy Devan, leading lady of Philadelphia label Naveda Couture (naveda couture.com), is a shining example of the “love what you do” mentality. A Drexel MBA grad gone fashion, Devan spent years in corporate marketing before pursuing her dream job in design school and ultimately launching Naveda, which sells online as well as in boutiques including Rittenhouse’s

Shop Sixty Five (128 S. 17th St., 267-239-5488; shopsixtyfive.com). Fastforward three years and this jetsetter turned her weeklong wedding into a bohemian daydream. “Bridalwear is a big part of what I do at Naveda,” says Devan, “I design and style for who I call the ‘wanderluxe’—my interpretation of a wild dreamer who has an appreciation for intricate, luxe details.” THE WEDDING: At the first of Devan’s two wedding ceremonies, at The Merion’s Skylight Ballroom, an altar towered with flowers and accents like a vintage chandelier and imported Chantilly lace. “It was designed to look like we were in an enchanted garden,” says Devan.

THE LOOKS: Creating more than 15 designs for her wedding, Devan styled her bridesmaids in floralprint silk lehengas and hand-embroidered summer capes. Since white symbolizes mourning in Hinduism, Devan wore crimson red; for the second ceremony, she chose a dusty rosecolored gown with ivory beadwork and a long veil. “I felt so regal,” she says. “Like I was out of an old Hollywood movie.” THE FUTURE: With the wedding behind her, Devan is taking Naveda Couture in a new direction for 2017, with styling services, lifestyle products, and jewelry. Her aim is to relaunch the brand in a fresh light. Says the blissful Devan, “I’m blending my work with the start of my happily ever after. Does it get any better than that?”

CLOCKWISE FROM LEFT: Amy Devan’s two wedding ceremonies were held at The Merion’s Skylight Ballroom; an ornate Indian bridal sari from Naveda Couture; the designer, clad in one of 15 looks she created for her weeklong wedding, takes to the dance floor at
