Carl Dranoff gives a first look at his long-awaited Fitler Square residence One Riverside.
It’s a few weeks before the first residents are set to move into Fitler Square’s new 22-story, 68-unit One Riverside (225 S. 25th St., 215-600-2496; oneriversidecondos.com) and developer Carl Dranoff is surveying the progress. Donning a hard hat, Dranoff stops to admire the ripply travertine stone in the modern lobby. “It mimics the feel of the Schuylkill River outside,” he says. “Everything is oriented to the views,” says Dranoff. One look around tells you he’s not exaggerating. Designed by acclaimed architect Cecil Baker, the slender glass skyscraper has floor-to-ceiling windows and wide balconies to best view the Center City skyline to the northeast and miles of Philly rowhomes to the south.
Beyond their own four walls, residents enjoy amenities like a 60-foot lap pool and fitness center (built to rival any top gym) and a club room with a fireplace and piano. The executive boardroom for 16 pulls double duty as a grand dining room. After dinner, guests can retreat to the chic hospitality suite instead of a hotel.
“We created the slimmest footprint possible to preserve as much green space as we could,” says Dranoff. A private garden flanks the entrance, near the underground garage, and a ground-level terrace has a kitchen, fire pit, and pergola that looks out over the community garden just beyond and all the action at the park.
