Q: Why did you pick Philadelphia to house all of your wonderful eateries?
JOSE GARCES: “Philadelphia picked me — it was love at first sight! After living in NYC from 1996 until 2000, I had an opportunity to come work in Philadelphia with my chef mentor, Douglas Rodriguez, and Stephen Starr. After opening two restaurants with Starr, I quickly gained a following and loyal guests. Over the years, it’s been great to see the city of Philadelphia and its food scene evolve. I’m proud to have been able to contribute to what has become a true culinary destination.”
