Jennie Germaine fed the neighborhood

Homewood and graduated from Westinghouse High School. On Feb. 8, 1942, she married Anthony G. Germaine of Jamestown, N.Y., at Mother of Good Council Church. They had five children: Roberta (deceased), Anthony of Point Breeze, Sarah of Oakmont, David (deceased) and Jennie of Downtown.

Mrs. Germaine was a homemaker but also worked part time for about 10 years as a printer’s assistant at Harbic & Held. Her husband, a purchaser for Allegheny General Hospital, died in 1995 after 52 years of marriage. Now a resident of Presbyterian SeniorCare in Oakmont, Mrs. Germaine has six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
