A starring role for Homewood

“The People Are The Light” is the uplifting title of a project that comprises art installati­ons, performanc­es and workshops to be held in Homewood from Saturday through Oct. 15.

A free public opening reception will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at The Fruit Stand, 617 Homewood Ave., and House of Manna, 7240 Frankstown Ave. The day will feature a soundtrack by DJ duo Tracksploi­tation and sweet treats by Dana's Bakery.
