Preda­tors place Hart­nell, We­ber on in­jured re­serve

Nashville’s feisty for­ward, Scott Hart­nell, will be out 3-5 weeks with a lower­body in­jury, and de­fense­man Yan­nick We­ber will be out 2-4 weeks with a lower­body in­jury.

Each was placed on in­jured re­serve.

For­mer Pen­guins cen­ter Nick Bonino, who missed 12 games with a lower-body in­jury, re­turned to the Preda­tors lineup for game Tues­day night against the vis­it­ing Wash­ing­ton Cap­i­tals and scored his sec­ond goal this sea­son late in the first pe­riod.

Hart­nell and We­ber were in­jured in Preda­tors 5-4 over­time win against the Pen­guins Satur­day night in Nashville.

Hart­nell, 35, has seven points (four goals, three as­sists) in 16 games this sea­son. He signed a one-year, $1 mil­lion con­tract with the Preda­tors July 1 after play­ing the pre­vi­ous three sea­sons with the Colum­bus Blue Jack­ets.

We­ber, 29, has two as­sists in 12 games this sea­son.


Goal­tender Carey Price said Tues­day he ex­pects to re­turn from his lower-body in­jury soon, al­though it’s tak­ing longer than he or the team orig­i­nally ex­pected. He missed his sixth game in a row Tues­day night when the Cana­di­ens played host to the Colum­bus Blue Jack­ets. Price planned to skate with the team Tues­day, but chose not to at the last minute.


Cen­ter Travis Za­jac could re­turn to the Devils lineup Thurs­day when New Jersey vis­its Toronto. Za­jac, who missed train­ing camp and the first 17 reg­u­lar-sea­son games after surgery Aug. 17 to re­pair a torn left pec­toral mus­cle. He cen­tered the top line be­tween wingers Tay­lor Hall and Kyle Palmieri Tues­day in prac­tice.
