OLD DOMINION over N Carolina by 3
Without question, the biggest game on Old Dominion’s home schedule this year. The Monarchs are off to a 2-0 start, winning the stats in both games, while the Tar Heels have started the season 0-2 SUATS, losing the stats by an average of 167 YPG (allowed 706 yards in home loss to Louisville last week). So why are the Monarchs home dogs here, despite winning 10 games last season while going at home you ask? It’s called name and reputation, and UNC has plenty of it while ODU does not. Carolina also has a questionable quarterback situation after starter Chazz Surratt was listed as questionable with an ankle injury (check status). But the one thing we really like about this game is the identity of the Heels’ next opponent: Duke. You’ve heard of the basketball rivalry but the hatred between these two extends to the gridiron… especially after last year’s 28-27 choke job by Carolina at Chapel Hill, a defeat that ruined the Heels’ chances of playing in the ACC Championship game. The opening line of UNC -7 tells us the oddsmakers are in a giving mood – so we’ll take full advantage of what they’re offering. Wrong team favored!
