SYRACUSE over C Michigan by 13
The ‘Cuse turned from orange to red last week when they dropped a tight 30-23 decision to visiting Middle Tennessee. We look for Orange HC Dino Babers to get his troops’ attention Saturday afternoon in what has been a great spot to back the host: Syracuse is as home chalk in nonconference affairs following a home game. Ironically, after spending two years with Bowling Green in the MAC, this will be Babers’ first meeting with Central Michigan. The last time the Chips started the season at 2-0 (2014), it ignited a 3-year bowl run. A lousy mark as dogs of more than 4 points following a SU underdog win sets the table – along with a MAC opener up next with Miami Ohio, (Chippewas lost to RedHawks by 20 points LY). However, don’t go raiding the kids’ college fund… Syracuse’s Babers has cashed only once in five tries when playing at home off a loss.
