TEXAS A&M over UL-Lafayette by 28
UL-Lafayette was ripped apart by a Hurricane last weekend – and her name wasn’t Irma. It was Tulsa, and the Cajuns ought to be Ragin’ after giving up 66 points and 667 yards in that sobering loss. Yes, while we respect ULL head coach Mark Hudspeth’s success on the field, along with his 16-9 ATS effort as a road dog, we refuse to get behind a defense that’s allowing 57 points and 591 yards per contest this season. What better time for embattled head coach Kevin Sumlin to go target shooting. How hot is the seat Sumlin is sitting on these days? Aside from death threats and giving away a certain win over UCLA in the season opener, he chose to kick a 26-yard field goal with 26 seconds remaining in last week’s 24-14 win over non-descript Nicholls State in a game that was tied at 14 apiece in the 4th quarter. Translation: if he has anything left at all, he’ll bring it in this contest. Otherwise it will be RIP Kevin Sumlin, as his current 1-9 ATS losing skein has emptied the seats – and the wallets - of more than a few boosters. Time for the Aggies to play big or go home.
