CENTRAL FLORIDA over Georgia Tech by 3
We’re not surprised the Gamecocks of Jacksonville State were ‘cock a doodle doo’ last Saturday in Atlanta with the Yellow Jackets arriving in an ornery mood after blowing their season opener, 42-41, against Tennessee. We could certainly make a case for Paul Johnson’s crew tonight in Orlando as they hit Spectrum Stadium (also known as the ‘Bounce House’) with a 4-0 ATS log as non-conference road favorites of less than 14 points and a 2017 stat sheet that would make our soon-to-be-released mouth water: a +210 net yardage advantage while limiting foes to just 279 YPG. Yes, those numbers look imposing but three straight ACC conference revengers could take the sting out of Johnson’s Jackets – as does this little Playbook exclusive: winning teams in Game Two with a week of rest (UCF) are 32-17-1 ATS, including 8-3 ATS as dogs. However, our main concern with the hosts is head coach Scott Frost’s 0-6 SU and 2-4 ATS mark versus winning foes (7-1 SU and 6-1 ATS against .500 or less opposition). Nonetheless, we’ll ‘bounce’ with another Saturday night home dog.
