Toledo over BALL ST by 28
With the World Series taking center stage on Wednesday, it’s no surprise to find the NCAA beginning their Week Nine festivities a day later. It’s a good thing as this ‘mismatch Thursday’ finds mostly conference leaders clashing with cellar dwellers. It begins in Muncie where the MAC West co-leading Rockets (6-1, 3-0) figure to touchdown plenty of times against a Gonad (2-5, 0-3) squad that has been nothing more than low-hanging fruit, especially in conference play, logging a 0-3 SU, ATS and ITS mark – with the average spread loss coming by 35 points per game. That certainly hasn’t been the case for a Toledo team that is 3-1 ATS on this field since 2009, 7-1-1 ATS away in weekday affairs, including 4-0 SUATS against avenging foes, and whose only loss this season came at Miami Florida (actually led, 16-10, at the half). Now while we can’t completely burn the midnight oil with Jason Candle’s crew with next Thursday’s visit from co-leading NIU on their radar, we still can only look one way. Lay it or leave it.
