W KENTUCKY over Fla Atlantic by 4
That Lane Kiffin… layin’ in the weeds just like a snake last week to spoil our 5* newsletter call on North Texas. Regardless of what you think of Kiffin, though, he’s sure got the FAU offense running at full tilt: after posting only 33 total points in season-opening losses to Navy and Wisconsin, the Owls attack is generating over 48 PPG in its last five games (4-1 SU). Yes, Kiffin’s kids will be anxious to hit the field this afternoon after producing a school record 69 points and 804 yards in last week’s rout of an unsuspecting North Texas team. Ahhh, but one blowout does not a road favorite make… even though this year’s Hilltoppers under HC Mike Sanford are certainly nowhere near the Jeff Brohm squads that terrorized CUSA for the previous three seasons. Granted, they are 5-2 SU on the year but just 1-6 In The Stats, and they had to rally from a 14-point 4th quarter deficit to beat Old Dominion last week. The WKU defense hasn’t helped much, either, allowing season-high yards in two of the last three contests. Still, we can’t ignore Western’s 19-2 SU and 14-5 ATS mark at home since 2014, along with an 8-2 ATS conference home dog log. Thus, we won’t chase an inflated line with a team off a record-setting performance.
