Houston over TULANE by 3
If the current line of Houston -9.5 looks vaguely familiar in this afternoon’s matchup in the Big Easy, it’s because the Cougars have been double-digit favorites in the last ten games in this series. However, it’s the Green Wave that has the most incentive to play well here: without a win today, Tulane’s bowl party is over – unlike a Houston squad that arrives with a 6-win bowleligible ticket already in their back pocket. A trip to the ATS archives doesn’t shed much light on this matchup. UH owns an awful 0-5 SU and 1-3-1 ATS record of late in Last Road Games but the Greenies counter with an equally bad 4-9 SUATS mark in Last Home Games. The biggest edge for head coach Major Applewhite’s Cougars is a solid 13-2 SU and 11-4 ATS mark with rest during the regular season. But Tulane head coach Willie Fritz boasts a 13-71 ATS record in games following a win, including 3-0-1 ATS with conference revenge – and that’s what matters most here today. Back the hungrier host.
