PENN ST over Nebraska by 24

Playbook Football (Midweek Alert) - - Miami Florida Over -

The seconds must feel like hours to Nebraska head coach Mike Riley as he slogs through the final weeks of a failed attempt to make the Huskers more competitive inside the Big Ten. At 4-6 SU, Nebbish has no shot at continuing its 9-year bowl streak, and if the line reaches 25 points by kickoff, it will be the most points the Huskers have ever taken in Big Ten play. Bad enough that this storied program lost by 42 points at home to Ohio State a month ago but it was an unthinkable 54-21 defeat at the hands of mediocre Minnesota that should probably spell the end for Riley after just two seasons in Lincoln. How far has Nebraska’s stock fallen? Consider the fact that the Nittany Lions were installed as 17.5-point chalk in this contest in Vegas before the start of the 2017 season. With the current number much higher, all the value for either side has been stripped out of this game. Both teams have hit bumps in the previous weeks with the Huskers losing four of their last five SU while Penn State has dropped two of its last three. No ATS edges, either, as the Lions are 3-5 SU and 2-6 ATS in Last Home Games while Big Red is a paltry 1-4 ATS of late as dogs of 17 or more points. Simply put, we have no interest in this meaningless matchup. Next…
