Marshall over UTSA by 6
Despite a 7-3 SU season, Marshall finds itself eliminated from the top spot in the CUSA East following back-to-back losses to FAU and FIU. Still, a win here and another next week against Southern Miss and the Herd will erase memories of last year’s 3-9 aberration (had gone 33-8 SU in previous three seasons). As we expected, the Roadrunners were exposed last Saturday against UAB and must win tonight or next week versus Louisiana Tech to earn a bowl invite. For some unknown reason, the oddsmakers fell in love with San Antonio this year and installed the ‘Runners as favorites in all seven FBS games following their season opener against Baylor! After an awful 2-5 ATS result as chalk, it’s no big surprise to see UTSA hovering at ‘Pick’ versus Marshall here. And if the Roadrunner go off as favorites, they’ll have their hands full against a mad-as-hell Herd that’s cashed in all four appearances as dogs this season. The bottom line is we prefer a Marshall squad that has outgained seven of their last eight opponents. Again.
