SAN DIEGO ST over Nevada by 20
We’re sure 1st-year Nevada head coach Jay Norvell can’t wait for this season to end. Previous head man Brian Polian was given the boot at Reno after a 4-year stint that produced two bowl appearances but an overall SU record of just 23-27. Then Norvell comes in and engineers a 2-8 effort so far in 2017. Which has Nevada fans asking: if Connecticut and Kansas State could bring coaches Randy Edsall and Bill Snyder back for a second tour of duty, could the Wolf Pack lure back the great Chris Ault for a final run? Probably not, but they can dream. His former squad shows up on the left coast tonight having laid a 1-5 SU and 1-4-1 ATS series egg in the last five go-rounds with San Diego State, not to mention a sorry after scoring more than 45 points (put 59 on the board last week versus hapless San Jose State). As for veteran head coach Rocky Long and his Aztecs, they’re still one game back of Fresno State in the MWC West but don’t hold the tie-breaker, so their chances of repeating as West champs look fairly bleak. They are, however, an incredible in games against losing foes since 2014 – plus coach Long is the answer to this week’s
on page 2. That, and an opportunity for SDSU to move up in the bowl hierarchy, puts the Aztecs on our ticket tonight.
