NEBRASKA over Colorado by 11
The Cornhuskers’ long-anticipated season opener under new HC Scott Frost was delayed due to bad weather against Akron. It marked the third straight year a Frost team has faced a postponement and when Akron opted to head home on Sunday – possibly because Terry Bowden felt he needed the extra day to prepare for the Zips’ home opener against Morgan State (1-10 in 2017) – the Huskers now will be scrambling to fill the void with a makeup partner on October 27. Thus, it’s safe to say they’re Jonesing for some Frost-bite in Lincoln this Saturday. Meanwhile, the Buffs outyarded barefoot Colorado State, 596-284, in a 32-point stampede last Friday night in the Rocky Mountain Showdown. Veteran QB Steven Montez threw for 338 yards and 4 TDs, discovering his new favorite target, Laviska Shenault, Jr., who caught 11 balls for 211 yards. However, we are not interested in roaming with Colorado at this price range as Buffs return only five starters from a 5-win club in 2017.
