Houston over NEW ENGLAND by 3
Ladies and gents, in the red corner it’s the lightweight, 4-win Texans from Houston. And in the blue corner it’s the always-feared New England Patriots. And as Marc’s Against The Spread podcast – which debuts for the season this week at MarcLawrenceRadio.com – says at the beginning of each show, “Let’s get it on!” The wallop that the Pats once packed figures to be lightened this season now that they carry the label of ‘Super Bowl loser’ around with them. And don’t discount that notion as Marc points out in his weekly column in the USA TODAY SPORTS WEEKLY that Super Bowl losers are just in season-opening games since 2001. Houston comes in with a 5-1 ATS log in the first of consecutive road games and is 7-2 SU the last nine years in initial road games. Thus, we won’t be at all surprised to find the Brady bunch drop to 1-5 ATS in their last six home openers when they take on the Deshaun Watson-led Texans. A solid take in this all-out leather flying standing 8-count.
