We’ve been getting a lot of calls from folks trying to ascertain the whereabouts of Jaybird The Bulldog, our SEC scout – not because they’re concerned about his safety in the path of an approaching hurricane, but because they want to convey messages to him about last week’s bum steer on the Gamecocks over Georgia (messages like, “Ain’t it about time you retired?”). Regardless of his current availability, Jaybird and all true Georgia fans would love to be in Athens today to see their beloved Dawgs chew up and spit out another opponent. But we’re not so sure about putting our money where their mouth is, not with UGA now

as non-conference chalk of 29 or more points. There’s no denying the fearsome nature of this loaded Georgia team, not after UGA handed South Carolina its worst loss in the series since 1971 last week in a 4117 rocking chair victory. Now, though, Kirby Smart’s troops will land in the middle of a tough SEC sandwich: 1-5 ATS after South Carolina and 1-4 ATS before Missouri. Middle Tennessee ironed out major problems on offense (scored only 7 points versus Vandy) with a 61-37 win over UT Martin. Head coach Rick Stockstill owns a decent 10-5 ATS record when his team squares off with an undefeated foe, and the Blue Raiders have posted a profitable 8-3 ATS mark in their last 11 games as dogs of 30 or more points. With a red-clad crowd filling Sanford Stadium on a late summer Georgia evening, we think the Bulldogs may just want to unwind tonight instead of doling out punishment for 60 minutes. Hello? No, we still don’t know where he is…
