LEXINGTON’S FOUNDER AND CEO HAS A PASSION FOR DESIGN.

Abccarpet&home This place has an incredible range of all things interior. The premises alone are fantastic. The ground floor is something of a marketplace with lots of little things to browse through. It’s worth allocating some time for your visit as you’ll easily spend a whole day here. ABC also has a restaurant. 888 Broadway www.abchome.com

West elm A favourite among young interior design journalists, West Elm is found across USA. It follows a modern style, both when it comes to furniture, bed linen and interior design gadgets. West Elm is classically clean with a modern twist. 112 W 18th Street www.westelm.com

Aero The man behind the store, Tomas O’brien, is one of America’s most famous interior design- Dwell Studio. ers and designs for his own brands as well as others. His store is a blend of his own designs, revamped vintage furniture and smaller decorative objects. This inspirational place is spread across two floors and conveniently located in Soho. 419 Broome Street www.aerostudios.com

pottery Barn Representing a softer, typical American style, Pottery Barn has branches across the country. You’ll find anything from sofas to Christmas decorations, all good quality at reasonable pri- ces. It’s bright and fresh and the table tops and adornments are very inspirational. It’s one of my favourites and in line with my personal taste. 117 E 59th Street www.potterybarn.com

Dwell studio A mixed, modern American concept. With a wide range of furniture and decorative items, it can be slightly overwhelming at first, but it’s unlikely you leave empty handed. The furniture is slightly austere compared to the bold accessories. 77 Wooster Street, www.dwellstudio.com restoration HARDWARE Another store adhering to the American design concept with branches across the US. This one, however, is a little bit darker and more full-on than the others. Its attention to colour coordination won me over – it’s not unusual for towels and wall colours to match. But the reason it’s one of my personal favourites is because it’s where I can find American style ironwork and hooks that often proves difficult to find at home. 925 Broadway www.restorationhardware.com
