You’ll fre­quently hear the term spalla cam­i­cia, mean­ing shirt shoul­der, bandied about among tai­lored menswear aficionados. It sig­ni­fies the look of the sleeve head on the shoul­der that re­sem­bles that of a shirt. Adding a larger sleeve into a smaller arm­hole pro­duces the char­ac­ter­is­tic shirring ef­fect above the seam.
