PEN Center USA

Five writers received 2017 Emerging Voices Fellowships from PEN Center USA. They are poet Soleil David and fiction writers Peter H. Z. Hsu, Kirin Khan, Chinyere Nwodim, and Jessica Shoemaker, all of Los Angeles. They each received $1,000, and will participate in a mentorship program with a professional writer, as well as public readings and other programming in Los Angeles.
