Noyes of New York City for Goodnight, Beautiful Women (Grove Press) and Helen Maryles Shankman of Teaneck, New Jersey, for They Were
Like Family to Me (Scribner). They each received $5,000. Harold Augenbraum, Sarah Shun-lien Bynum, and Daniel Goldin judged. Randa Jarrar of Fresno, California, won the 2016 Story Prize Spotlight Award for Him, Me, Muhammad Ali (Sarabande Books). She received $1,000. Larry Dark and Julie Lindsey judged.
