Philip Schaefer of Missoula, Montana, won the 2016 Agha Shahid Ali Poetry Prize for his poetry collection Bad Summon. He received $1,000, publication of his book by University of Utah Press, and $500 and travel and lodging expenses to give a reading at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. David Baker judged.
