PRIZE FOR NEW IM­MI­GRANT WRIT­ING

Linda Rui Feng of Toronto won the 2018 Prize for New Im­mi­grant Writ­ing for her novel, The Im­por­tance of Float­ing.

She re­ceived $10,000 and pub­li­ca­tion by Rest­less Books. Téa Obreht and Ilan Sta­vans judged. The an­nual award is given in al­ter­nat­ing years for a debut book of fic­tion or non­fic­tion by an im­mi­grant. The 2019 award will be given in non­fic­tion.
