The Monache High School vol­ley­ball team picked up their sec­ond win of the week af­ter de­feat­ing North Bak­ers­field 3-0 on Wed­nes­day in a non-league game at home.

The Ma­raud­ers won in straight sets 25-17, 2514 and 25-14.

For Monache, An­drea Lopez led the team in kills with 12 and also had five digs and two aces. Hai­ley Kel­ley had nine kills and one block as­sist while Hally Flynn had five kills. Sa­man­tha Diaz led in as­sists with 17 and also had eight digs and one ace. Gabby Cox fol­lowed with 10 as­sists and five digs. Bri­anna John­son led in digs with 12 and had one ace as well. The Strath­more girls ten­nis team swept ri­val Lind­say 9-0 on the Car­di­nals’ court in Tues­day’s East Se­quoia League match.

In singles, Spar­tans No. 1 Arelli Adams de­feated Ikonkar Khalsa 8-0, No. 2 Zoe Vasquez de­feated Rose Agulera 8-1, No. 3 Neha Reddy de­feated Giselle Chavez 8-1, No. 4 Ari­ana Mata de­feated Keer­tan Khalsa 8-0, and No. 5 Sum­mer Aqra de­feated Carolina Jimenez 8-0.

In dou­bles, Strath­more’s No. 1 of Adams and Aqra beat Lind­say’s Ikonkar and Chavez.

The short-handed Car­di­nals for­feited the No. 2 and No. 3 dou­bles, as well as the No. 6 singles.
