PPD: Man arrested on sex with teen charges
A Porterville man was arrested on sex with a teen charges, the Porterville Police Department reported.
At about 11:50 a.m. on Wednesday, officers with the PPD were contacted by an 18 year old male, who reported a sexual relationship with an adult male that took place over two years prior. The victim alleged that sometime in 2015, he engaged in consensual oral copulation and sodomy with David Carrasco, 37.
At that time the victim was 15 years old. He also reported that Carrasco offered him money in exchange for sex, PPD reported.
Detectives of the General Investigations Unit assumed the investigation and learned that Carrasco had been arrested by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department for similar crimes in early 2017 and he was currently awaiting trial on that case.
At about 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, detectives contacted Carrasco at his residence and he was arrested without incident. Detectives also served a search warrant at Carrasco’s home, seizing electronic evidence.
Carrasco was charged with suspicion of communication with minor to engage in sex act, oral copulation with person under 18 years and sodomy of person under 18 years and booked into the Tulare County Jail, where he is being held in lieu of $750,000 bail.
