Dolores Rosso passed away peacefully at her residence in Fresno, California on the evening of Wednesday, November 8, 2017. She was 92 years old. She was born on February 22, 1925 to Jack and Kathryn Souza.

Dolores was a child of the Great Depression and came of age during WWII. After the war, Dolores married her husband of 61 years, Albert. Together, they owned and operated several successful small businesses, including the renowned Rosso's Italian Restaurant in Woodville, California.

A devout Catholic, Dolores spent countless hours in service to her parish and community. She taught catechism for many years, but was most proud of the time and energy she contribute­d to the decade-long effort to build a Catholic church in the community of Woodville, California (today the Saint Francis of Assisi Mission).

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert, and her brother, Bernard. She is survived by her two children, Catherine and Mario, as well as many nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for a life dedicated to hard work, sacrifice, and compassion for others.

There will be a viewing at 3pm on Wednesday, November 15th at Myer’s Funeral Chapel in Portervill­e, and a Rosary at 6pm the same day. The mass will be at 9am on Thursday, November 16th at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Portervill­e, with a graveside service at Woodville Public Cemetery (17203 Avenue 168 in Woodville). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anne's Catholic Church, Portervill­e California.
