Alberta Thomas

Alberta Thomas passed away peacefully Sunday, March 18, 2018 in Porterville, CA at the age of 74.

Born December 10, 1943 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, Alberta was known as generous, thoughtful, and kind hearted by all that knew her. Most of all, she was a selfless, warm soul that loved her family and friends unconditionally. Those close to Alberta enjoyed her original recipes that included chili beans, potato salad and biscuits with chocolate gravy. Her hobbies included deepsea fishing, playing slot machines, and watching American Pickers. She will be missed immensely by all who loved her.

Alberta was preceded in death by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 57 years Stanley Thomas, mother and father Daphna and Albert Dunning and brother Leonard Dunning. She is survived by brothers Terry Dunning, Geary Dunning (Tammy), and Montie Dunning (Annie) sons Rodney Thomas and Russell Thomas (Karen), grandchildren Garrett Thomas (Brianna), Evan Thomas, Stevee Moya (Tyson), and Madison Thomas and great grandchildren, Ellie and Averie Thomas.

Services will be held at Myer’s Funeral Home on Monday, March 26 at 1:00 pm with a graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery to follow. There will be a gathering after services at the Porterville Eagle’s Lodge.
