Napoleon R. Ojeda
Napoleon R. Ojeda passed away on Friday afternoon July 6, 2018 at the age of 94. At the time of his death, he was at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on January 28, 1924, to Pedro Ojeda and Rebecca Ojeda-ramirez in Quechultenango, Guerrero, Mexico. Napoleon has been a resident of Porterville since 1956.
He is survived by his devoted wife Rita of 54 years, his older sister Sara Ojeda and younger brother Juan Ojeda, both of Mexico. He is also survived by his 8 children, Pete (Maria), Sara,emily Bernal (Mark), David (Victoria), Rebecca (Jan), Christina, Linda, Angela, 16 grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and enjoyed nothing more than to be involved in his family's lives, whether it was celebrating holidays, birthdays, graduations, weekend barbeques, sitting around talking with his children and friends, or simply babysitting his grandchildren/greatgrandchildren. He was a man of steel to all of his beloved; he was generous even with strangers and was always ready to lend a helping hand or ear. Having worked very hard in Agriculture for many years, he instilled his work ethic in all of his children.
He loved fishing, working in his vegetable garden and flower beds, nurturing his fruit trees and canning his own olives. He will be greatly missed by all.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Porterville Funeral and Cremation Center Chapel, with Rosary at 6 p.rn,
Mass will be at 9 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2018 at St. Anne's Catholic Church.
Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
