LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

Recorder shouldn’t have given so much space to Caulk

There really is no point in trying to argue with Steven Caulk. He’s too busy frothing at the mouth to brother with actual reality.

He’s too busy squawking, repeating every lie his master Trump taught him to squawk to bother with actual facts. He’s too busy representing what his president (not mine) personifies. No, all one can really do is try to feel sorry for him, all the while pondering how he and so many others in this new Millennium, in this fresh 21st century, can still be so determinedly ignorant.

The real question here is why would The Recorder devote so much space to regurgitating such obvious twaddle? And with no commentary: are you now gonna feature the Confederate flag on your banner, along with a swastika? Might as well, since that’s exactly what you’re promulgating: hate, intolerance, and — when things don’t go your way — mindless violence (is there any other kind?)

What exactly does The Recorder hope to accomplish with this “literary” diarrhea — angering and alienating what few readers you have left? Or are you just reiterating how most Portervillens really “think”? And that’s a terrifying though because I don’t want to live in an Auschwitz, I don’t really want Jefferson Davis as my mayor, I don’t want the KKK goosestepping down main street.

And I really don’t want Steven Caulk to be Porterville’s voice of “reason.” ‘Cause if that’s the case, then we’re just an enclave, a training ground, for domestic terrorists, for gun toting people, for those throwbacks who refuse to grow up, wise up and maybe just shut up when they have nothing really to say except Destroy! Which president is God’s will

I and nobody should ever question God! I prayed for God to put in the president whom was best for us.

God made the choice for us. God only knows best for every person in the world. We never question him.

Trump has to answer for all the things he said and done to us seen as evil. The U.S. Needs to move on with peace, love and be there for everybody and be there for God.

Thanks for helping Operation Christmas Child

Despite a global pandemic, residents and the Tulare and Kings County Area Team shared the true meaning of Christmas with children in need this past holiday season.

At curbside drop-off locations for the Samaritan’s Purse project Operation Christmas Child, generosity of donors across the U.S. resulted in more than 7.8 million shoebox gifts collected in 2020. Combined with those collected from partnering countries in 2020, the ministry is now sending more than 8.9 million shoebox gifts to children worldwide.

Through shoeboxes — packed with fun toys, school supplies, and hygiene items — volunteers brought joy to children in need around the world. Each giftfilled shoebox is a tangible expression of God’s love, and it is often the first gift these children have ever received. Through the continued generosity of donors since 1993, Operation Christmas Child has collected and delivered more than 186 million gift-filled shoeboxes to children in more than 160 countries and territories.

The Tulare and Kings County Area Team shoebox packers shop for shoebox gift deals year round, and many serve at a deeper level. Information about ways area participants can get involved year round can also be found at samaritanspurse.org/ occ or by calling (714) 432-7030.

Although local drop-off locations for gifts are closed until Nov. 15 – 22, 2021, anyone can still be a part of this life-changing project by conveniently packing a shoebox gift online in just a few simple clicks at samaritanspurse.org/buildonline.

These simple gifts, packed with love, send a message to children worldwide that they are loved and not forgotten.

New Porterville Rescue Mission needs help

The New Porterville Rescue Mission does something about the homeless problem in our town. I hear a lot about doing something but are we doing our part.

No, the government, state , federal or the city will not step in any time soon. There about 20 people living indoors and there are seven tents on the pavement and cement. One of those tents houses a family with a new born baby. There was no room at the inn for the family of Jesus. Is there no room in Porterville? Is there no room in our hearts? The Mission will accept all most any donation but what is needed is Love. Please help.
