Quip: Please, no more Bushes, Clintons, or Obamas in the White House. Retort: It could be worse. Cruz, Pence, Jindal, Rubio and downhill from there.

Our decaying infrastructure, most visible as enormous potholes everywhere, makes this state look like the East Germany I visited in college in the ’70s.

Since minimum wage jobs are suppose to be entry-level jobs, providing young people critical skills, I have a suggestion: Let’s lower the minimum wage and give more kids the opportunity to work a first job.

The most common defense from pit bull lovers is, “It’s not the pit bull, it’s how they’re raised.” My question is, then why are pit bulls the only ones killing other animals and people? Are pit bulls the only breed not being raised correctly?

More school fundraisers, tax referendums, fees for parents and still less curricular activities and a worse education overall. Yep, that surplus comes at a cost.

Hey, football guru: Upper management is supposed to hire people who do the job. Players or coaches, makes no difference.

If kids are not raised with a loving, nurturing foundation with fair punishment for their actions, it’s no wonder they spiral out of control. Everyone needs boundaries.

Whiting and its mayor should take a bow for what they have done to the lakefront. Great things can happen when your first priority is your city.

I wish those doing the chronic whining about the Indiana budget surplus would please do us all a favor and move one state west where there always will be a budget deficit.
