Man’s Best Mate

Power & Motor Yacht - - LOGBOOK -

Michael Peters loves dogs (Sightlines, April 2017). Coming from Seattle I know dogs. Seattle, like a number of cities, has more dogs than kids. One might wonder why? Could it be that a dog will love you no matter how you treat it? Could it be that a “trained” dog will obey you without question? Does an unconditionally loving, obedient dog provide a convenient substitute for the difficult job of learning how to get along with our fellow humans? —Richard Schwartz Bellevue, Washington

We cruise Maine with our yellow Labrador. We always attach an inexpensive water-activated strobe to his collar. Why? We almost lost the dog at night in a dog overboard situation! It was a potentially very serious situation that ended happily! —Mike Slater Via pmy
