Busi­ness­man Niles Foster cre­ated the or­ange­fla­vored bev­er­age, Hi- C, which was orig­i­nally made from or­anges and named for its high vi­ta­min con­tent. Amer­i­can banker John C. Big­gins of Flat­bush Na­tional Bank of Brook­lyn, New York in­vented the first bankissued credit card called Charg-It, for use with lo­cal mer­chants and bank cus­tomers.
