Lone Star Col­lege-Mont­gomery of­fer­ing classes in Mag­no­lia

CONROE (Au­gust 8, 2017) – Lone Star Col­lege-Mont­gomery cour­ses are com­ing to Mag­no­lia. This fall LSC-Mont­gomery is of­fer­ing a co­hort of classes on Tues­day evenings at Mag­no­lia High School.

“LSC-Mont­gomery strives to pro­vide ed­u­ca­tional op­por­tu­ni­ties for our com­mu­nity close to where stu­dents live,” said Dr. Re­becca Ri­ley, Pres­i­dent at LSC-Mont­gomery. “These classes will pro­vide stu­dents with a conve- nient way to get a qual­ity education at an af­ford­able price.”

The learn­ing com­mu­nity classes fea­ture univer­sity-trans­fer cour­ses in­clud­ing English 1301 and His­tory 1301 as well as a manda­tory LSC-Mont­gomery first-year ex­pe­ri­ence course Education 1300. These classes have con­ve­nient sched­ul­ing op­tions; they be­gin at 6 p.m. and end at 8:50 p.m. LSC-Mont­gomery is in the process of se­lect­ing a lo­ca­tion for its Mag­no­lia Cen­ter. The 65,000 square-foot Mag­no­lia Cen­ter will pro­vide easy ac­cess to education for Mag­no­lia res­i­dents and those in the sur­round­ing com­mu­ni­ties. In ad­di­tion to gen­eral education cour­ses nec­es­sary for trans­fer­ring to a four-year in­sti­tu­tion, the Mag­no­lia Cen­ter will of­fer se­lect work­force pro­grams that will best serve the Mag­no­lia com­mu­nity and its em­ploy­ers.
