BLACKWOOD GUN CLUB HOSTS BEN­E­FIT FOR BACK THE BRAVE

Conroe, TX – Back the Brave is a non-profit or­ga­ni­za­tion that sup­ports first re­spon­ders and their fam­i­lies dur­ing line of duty deaths or a se­ri­ous line of duty in­jury. On Au­gust 19th Back the Brave will be part­ner­ing with Blackwood Gun Club to raise money for lo­cal first re­spon­ders at an event from 9:00am-6:00pm at the Blackwood Gun Club.

Par­tic­i­pants are in­vited to shoot at the range of your choice with a pis­tol, ri­fle, or shot­gun with a por­tion of the pro­ceeds ben­e­fit­ting the char­ity all day. Sport­ing clays, tar­get prac­tice, skeet, trap and 5-stand will all be avail­able dur­ing the event for your shoot­ing re­cre­ation. Chal­lenge your friends or civic groups to come out and sup­port a great cause!

Hourly prize draw­ings will in­clude sport­ing clay pack­ages, range passes, mer­chan­dise and more! Get ready for the up­com­ing Fall by pur­chas­ing the firearm you’ve had your eye on for months. En­ter to win a choice of 2 firearms in a raf­fle.

BBQ lunch tick­ets will be avail­able for pur­chase from 11:30-1:30pm with live mu­sic from the Decker Prairie Band.

“The fine peo­ple at Blackwood have of­fered to as­sist in rais­ing money by do­nat­ing a por­tion of their daily sales to our cause”, said Gre­gory Hopper, founder of Back the Brave. “What bet­ter way to spend a Satur­day af­ter­noon than at Blackwood Gun Club rais­ing money for those who pro­tect us day in and day out. God Bless all that help oth­ers”.

The foun­da­tion was founded by Sugar Land Fire Cap­tain Greg Hopper in 2016. He pre­vi­ously raised aware­ness in 2015 for Law En­force­ment by rais­ing over $65,000 for fallen po­lice of­fi­cers with the I’ve Got Your Back cam­paign. With the money raised, Back the Brave will be able to as­sist and help other fam­i­lies with Line of Duty deaths.

Kids can climb through firetrucks, ex­plore the Mont­gomery County Hos­pi­tal District am­bu­lance, and visit with law en­force­ment of­fi­cers while learn­ing about the peo­ple that pro­tect the com­mu­nity to keep ev­ery­one safe. “Blackwood Gun Club has a mis­sion to bal­ance shoot­ing sports with de­vel­op­ing skills, events and com­mu­nity en­gage­ment”, said Aaron Bear­den, wife of owner Jeff Bear­den of the Blackwood Gun Club. “We are in the firearm busi­ness be­cause of the com­mu­nity and es­pe­cially those that serve us daily. Back the Brave is a great event to honor the first re­spon­ders in our com­mu­nity”..
