Wissahickon topples Wood for openers

The Trojans controlled the EDll IRr DlPRVW WKH HnWLrH firVW half as they jumped out to a 6-0 lead and took a 6-2 lead into halftime.
“Early in the game, we ZH’rH SlDyLnJ vHry ZHll ZH were controlling the ball we were hustling and making plays,” Wissahickon FRDFK DDvLG 6FKlHVLnJHr said.
Much of the Trojans ball control came from good PLGfiHlG SlDy SDrWLFulDrly IrRP LDurD FrDnNHnfiHlG and woe Gomez. FrankenfiHlG VFRrHG D JDPH KLJK fivH goals and added two assists and Gomez registered a hat WrLFN ZKLlH SlDyLnJ Dn RvHrall solid game.
“TKHy ERWK SlDyHG vHry ZHll, FrDnNHnfiHlG HVSHcially played really well, vHry FRnWrRllHG, VKH ZRn D lot of draws, she got a lot of ground balls and scored a lot of goals,” Schlesinger said. “Then Gomez really picked it up the latter part of the second half.”

In the end there was too much Trojans, as they ended the game scoring six of the JDPH’V finDl VHvHn JRDlV.
“It’s a great way to start the season, I just wish it was warmer,” Schlesinger said.
