Gio­vanna Varano

Gio­vanna Varano, 60, of Hor­sham, died on March 25, 2013, at Abing­ton Me­mo­rial Hospi­tal. She was the beloved wife of An­to­nio Varano for 36 years. She was born in Maida, Italy, on Jan. 5, 1953, to the late Gre­go­rio and Teresa (Cilib­erto) Ser­rao.

Gio­vanna moved to Amer­ica in Septem­ber of 1970 and at­tended Wis­sahickon High School. She worked at Spring­house Es­tates in culi­nary ser­vices for 22 years.

Along with her hus­band, An­to­nio, she is sur­vived by her chil­dren, Doroty Cap­ple (Ryan) of North Wales, An­to­nio V. and Dan Varano of Hor­sham; her brothers, Giuseppe Ser­rao (Lisa) of Am­bler and Domenico Ser­rao (Marianna) of Lans­dale; and her grand­daugh­ters, Joanna and Mar­ley Cap­ple.

Rel­a­tives and friends are in­vited to her funeral Mass on Tues­day, April 2, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. An­thony of Padua Church, 259 For­est Ave., Am­bler, PA 19002. The view­ing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at church. En­tomb­ment in St. Pa­trick Mau­soleum.
