Dorothy A. (Ack­er­man) Richter of Jenk­in­town, Abing­ton Town­ship, passed away Wed­nes­day, March 20, 2013, at Ry­dal Park, Jenk­in­town. She was 94.

Born Aug. 2, 1918, in Baltimore, Md., she was a daugh­ter of the late Charles and Theresa (Gorschboth) Ack­er­man.

Dorothy was the wife of the late Al­bert T. Richter, with whom she shared nearly 65 years of mar­riage when he passed away in 2004.

A homemaker, she had been an area res­i­dent since 1959.

She had been a mem­ber of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mel­rose Park since 1959, where she was a mem­ber of the Ruth Cir­cle; she would vol­un­teer for any­thing that needed to be done.

She was the former cap­tain of the Cedar­brook Coun­try Club Bridge Team.

Dorothy is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Char­lotte Brumer of Mi­ami, Fla., her grand­son, Jon Brumer of Cut­ler Bay, Fla.; and her niece, Carla Mc­nuay of El­li­cott City, Md.

A visi­ta­tion was held from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Wed­nes­day, March 27 at John R. Freed Funeral Home, 124 N. Eas­ton Road, Glen­side, fol­lowed by her funeral at 11 a.m. In­ter­ment will be in Hill­side Ceme­tery, Roslyn.

In lieu of flow­ers, con­tri­bu­tions in me­mory of Dorothy may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Old vork Road and Mel­rose Av­enue, Mel­rose Park, PA 19027. John R. Freed Funeral Home, Glen­side.
