Martha Peter

Martha (Det­tling) Peter, a res­i­dent of Hor­sham for over 60 years, died, March 22. She was 86.

She was the wife of the late Al­fred O. Peter, with whom she had shared 58 years of mar­riage.

Born in Ger­many, she was the daugh­ter of the late Jo­hannes and Bertha (Hug) Det­tling.

She is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Helga Frie­man (David); her grand­chil­dren, Peter Holler­bach and Melissa Holler­bach and many fam­ily mem­bers in Ger­many. She was pre­ceded in death by her son, Kurt, her sis­ters, Paula Buck and Monika Straub, and her brother, Adolf Det­tling.

Rel­a­tives and friends are in­vited to greet the fam­ily af­ter 11 a.m., Thurs­day, March 28 in James R. Baskwill Funeral Home, 20 W. Mont­gomery Ave, (half block west of vork Road) Hat­boro; where her funeral ser­vice was held at noon. In­ter­ment fol­lowed in Whitemarsh Me­mo­rial Park. In­ter­na­tional Eucharis­tic Congress Mu­sic Min­istry.

She was a long­time mem­ber of the Cen­ten­nial Singers DQG DQ HOHFWLRQ RI­fiFLDO IRU Mont­gomery County.

Marie was a grad­u­ate of Simon Gratz High School.

She last worked as a doc­u­ment li­brar­ian for SEMCOR at former NADC Johnsville Naval Sta­tion.

Her proud­est ac­com­plish­ment was be­ing a wife and mother.

Rel­a­tives and friends were in­vited to the view­ing 7 to 9 p.m., Tues­day, March 26 at the Joseph J. McGoldrick Funeral Home, 507 West Ave., Jenk­in­town, and 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Wed­nes­day, at St. Robert of Bel­larmine Church, 856 Eu­clid Ave., War­ring­ton fol­lowed by a funeral Mass at 12:30 p.m. In­ter­ment was in St. John Neu­mann Ceme­tery.
