Marian E. Leoni

Marian E. Leoni of Am­bler, Pa., pro­fes­sional singer and homemaker, passed away on Wed­nes­day, March 27, 201,3 at the age of 85. She was born in WilkesBarre, Pa., to the late Phillip

and Beatrice Caruso.

Marian be­gan her en­ter­tain­ment ca­reer when she was 10 years old per­form­ing at the “At­lantic City Steel Pier.” She be­came an ac­com­plished Decca Record­ing artist, later per­form­ing ad­ver­tis­ing ra­dio jin­gles. She recorded more than 30 songs, in­clud­ing hits like “My Fa­vorite Song” and “This is the Thanks I Get for Lov­ing You.” Marian’s love of the arts con­tin­ued through­out her life. She VWDyHG KHDOWKy DnG fiW ZKLOH en­joy­ing ten­nis, golf and gar­den­ing. She was a mem­ber of the Barnes foun­da­tion art pro­gram.

Marian was mar­ried to the late Dr. Eu­gene P. Leoni. They were mar­ried 52 years.

Mom was an in­spi­ra­tion and her fun lov­ing spirit and en­ergy will be eter­nal.

Marian is sur­vived by her chil­dren, Nanette, Su­san, Eu­gene and Gre­gory; and fiYH JUDnGFKLOGUHn.

A me­mo­rial ser­vice was held on Wed­nes­day, April 3, 2013, from 11 a.m. to noon at Kirk & Nice Funeral Home at Ge­orge Washington Me­mo­rial Park, 80 Sten­ton Ave. Ply­mouth Meet­ing, Pa.

Marian died peace­fully of nat­u­ral causes

She was the beloved wife of Eric L. Kratschmer. They were to­gether 15 years.

Born April 7, 1947, Gretchen was the de­voted daugh­ter of Marian F. (Murphy) and the late Wil­liam R. van Horn; the lov­ing sis­ter of Wil­liam “Mike” van Horn and half-sib­lings, Vir­ginia Carter, Pa­tri­cia van Horn and her com­pan­ion, Laura Sleevi, and Wil­liam R. van Horn Jr.; the lov­ing sis­ter-in-law of Randy A. Kratschmer and his com­pan­ion, Mary Bruno and Robin A. Kratschmer; and daugh­ter-in-law of Robert L. Kratschmer.

There was a cel­e­bra­tion of Gretchen’s Life at 10 a.m. on Satur­day, April 6 at the Friends Meet­ing­house at Ge­orge School, Cor­ner of Farm Drive and Meet­ing­house Lane, New­town, PA 18940.

Elaine is sur­vived is her sis­ter, Bar­bara Fril­ing of Lans­dale; nieces An­drea Repko and Melissa Mer­schman; and her nephew, Jamie Fril­ing.

Ser­vices will be held pri­vately.
