Man charged with possession
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman and Hatboro police Chief James Gardner announce the arrest of Terrance Malik Anderson, 29, of the 2700 block of West Master Street, Philadelphia.
Hatboro police received information indicating that Anderson was engaged in the illegal distribution of narcotics in the Hatboro area, police said.
As a result, Hatboro and Upper Moreland police, assigned to the Montgomery County Drug Task Force, set up surveillance in the 300 block of South York Road, Hatboro Wednesday afternoon.
Police observed Anderson approach a female in a parking lot and the two appeared to engage in a hand-to-hand drug transaction.
Police moved in and Anderson was subsequently found to be in possession of 120 bags of heroin, seven bags of cocaine and a small amount of marihuana.
Anderson was arrested and has been charged with possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver, possession of controlled substances, and possession of marihuana.
He was arraigned by District Judge Juanita Price of Glenside and bail was set at $250,000 cash, police said. The defendant was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 6 at 10 a.m. before District Judge Paul Leo of Hatboro.
