Martha H. Davies

Martha H. (nee Brown) Davies, age 81, of Montoursville, and for­merly of Am­bler, died Sun­day, April 21, 2013, at Wil­liamsport Home in Wil­liamsport.

Mrs. Davies was born in Abing­ton. She was the daugh­ter of the late Archie M. and Martha H. (nee Welsh) Brown. Martha was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Robert H. Davies, in 1960. She was also pre­ceded in death by her broth­ers, Ge­orge R. Brown and Archie M. Brown gr., and her sis­ters, Edna M. Turner, Mil­dred Ref­s­nider and Anna Mae (Nancy) Blosser.

She was em­ployed as a can­ner for Am­chem Prod­ucts in Am­bler un­til her re­tire­ment. Martha then worked for Gwynedd Mercy in its cafe­te­ria un­til 1995.

Martha loved play­ing bingo. She played in a bowl­ing league for many years while work­ing at Am­chem. She was an avid Phillies and Ea­gles fan and en­joyed both go­ing to games and watch­ing them on TV in later years. Some of her fa­vorite sto­ries were about her son, Bob, who was her reg­u­lar chauf­feur. She also en­joyed go­ing to At­lantic City to gam­ble with her sib­lings.

Mrs. Davies is the de­voted mother of Bob Davies; cher­ished grand­mother of Kim­berly Rehn and her hus­band, Brian, of Montoursville; and loving great-grand­mother of three. She is also sur­vived by her brother, Linford S. Brown, of Lans­dale.

Fu­neral ser­vice was held at Trin­ity Epis­co­pal Church, 708 S. Beth­le­hem Pike, Am­bler, with the Rev. David A. &DQDQ RI­fiFLDWLQJ. ,QWHUPHQW was in St. Thomas Church Whitemarsh Ceme­tery, Fort Wash­ing­ton.
