It’s a fast and easy project that will be the focus of any room it’s placed in. SPECIFICAT­IONS Skill Level: Confident Beginner Finished Size: 40" x 40" From 6 pink/rose/cream prints: MATERIALS COMPLETING THE QUILT BACKGROUND Note: When selecting fabrics for this project, be sure there is some contrast between the background and flower/stem fabrics. • Cut 2 (51/2" by fabric width) strips each fabric. Subcut strips into 30 (21/2" x 51/2") rectangles each fabric (180 total). Refer to the Assembly Diagram for positionin­g of pieces. Arrange and join eight pink/ rose rectangles on the short ends to make an A row; press. Repeat to make a total of 10 A rows. Repeat step 1 with nine rectangles to make 10 B rows. 1. Note: Extra rectangles are cut to allow for moving them around as you stitch. • 3 (10" x 8") rectangles green tonals for outer petals and leaves 3 (10" x 6") rectangles pink/ burgundy fabrics for inner petals and flower centers 1/8 yard each 3 different green tonals for stems 1/2 yard each 6 different light to dark pink/rose/cream prints 1/2 yard burgundy tonal for binding Backing to size Batting to size 3 each 5" x 8" and 5" x 6" batting rectangles Thread No. 5 pearl cotton to match flower center fabrics Basic sewing tools and supplies • From burgundy tonal: 2. • Cut 5 (21/4" by fabric width) binding strips. • • • • • • • • • CUTTING Prepare templates for inner and outer petals, flower center and leaf using patterns given on the insert. Cut as per Making 3-D Flowers & Leaves on page 86. From 3 green tonals: • • Cut 1 (11/2" x 221/2") short stem strip. Cut 1 (11/2" x 271/2") mid-length stem strip.
