• 6 pre­cut 21/2" by fab­ric width strips

co­or­di­nat­ing light–medium tonal batiks • 1/4 yard medium print batik • 3/ 8 yard light print batik • 1/2 yard dark tonal batik • Back­ing to size • Bat­ting to size • Thread • Tem­plate ma­te­rial • Half- Hexie Ruler* (op­tional) • Ba­sic sew­ing tools and sup­plies *PlumEasy Half-Hexie Ruler used to make sam­ple.


Pre­pare tem­plates us­ing pat­terns given. Fold all (pre­cut and strips cut from yardage) 21/2" by fab­ric width strips in half to make 21/2" x 20" strips. Place the tem­plates on the strips to cut match­ing pairs as di­rected on pat­terns for each fab­ric and num­ber to cut, and re­fer­ring to Fig­ure 1.


Re­fer to the Assem­bly Di­a­gram for con­struc­tion steps. 1. Ar­range the A, B, C and D pieces with the E and ER pieces in 10 ver­ti­cal rows, match­ing same-fab­ric pieces in pairs from row to row to create the hexagons in the com­pleted top. 2. Join the pieces as ar­ranged to make rows; press. 3. Join the rows to com­plete the run­ner top. 4. Create a quilt sand­wich re­fer­ring to Quilt­ing Ba­sics on page 94. 5. Quilt as de­sired. 6. Bind edges re­fer­ring to Quilt­ing Ba­sics on page 94 to fin­ish.
