START TO FIN­ISH: 15 MIN 4 cups spiced ap­ple cider 2 cups cognac 1 cup apri­cot jam 1 lemon—zested (re­move in strips with veg­etable peeler), then juiced (about 1∕4 cup) 1 bot­tle

• • ( 750 milliliters) dry Cham­pagne 6 cups ice cin­na­mon sticks, for gar­nish In large bowl, whisk cider, cognac, jam, and lemon juice. Strain into punch bowl. Add Cham­pagne, ice, and lemon zest. Di­vide among glasses. Serve with cin­na­mon sticks. Makes 12 cups.
