Made in Rapp: New branding for Piedmont Publishing
Piedmont Publishing Group, publishers of the Rappahannock News, Culpeper Times, The Piedmont Virginian, and the Lifestyle magazines in Fauquier and Prince William counties, has rolled out new branding for the media group.
“We were looking for a leading-edge image that ties together everything what we represent,” said Dennis Brack, president of Piedmont Publishing Group and its parent company Rappahannock Media.
“‘Trusted, Engaging and Community Focused’ summarizes the company and what we stand for."
The new branding was created with the help of Liz Johnson, president and principal consultant of Rappahannock-based Mountain View Marketing, and Jay Ford, creative services director of the Culpeper Times.
Johnson worked with Piedmont Publishing’s leadership team and continues to help with our marketing efforts throughout our products, said Group Sales Director Tom Spargur. “In addition to our weekly local community newspapers and monthly Lifestyle magazines, we publish many niche products including the Rappahannock Guide, the Culpeper and Fauquier Community Resource Guides, the annual Culpeper Chamber of Commerce Community Guide & Business Directory and Treasures, a magazine showcasing Culpeper County,” Spargur added.
The Culpeper Times also publishes and produces the quarterly Downtown Destinations special sections in partnership with Culpeper Renaissance, and several special sections throughout the year including Culpeper AirFest, Piedmont Area Soap Box Derby and the annual Best of the Best!
The company will expand again next month with the launch of Gainesville Lifestyle magazine. Digital growth also continues with large web traffic gains, especially at the company’s newspapers. Underpinning all of this is strong local journalism. This year, the Rappahannock News was the smallest newspaper in the state to be recognized in the Virginia Press Association’s Best of Show awards for work done in collaboration with Foothills Forum.
