Ellen El­iz­a­beth Mus­toe

Ellen El­iz­a­beth Mus­toe, 70, of Wash­ing­ton, Vir­ginia died Satur­day Novem­ber 4, 2017 in Ster­ling. Born April 9, 1947 in Gor­donsville, she was the daugh­ter of the late Ken­neth Mus­toe and El­iz­a­beth Wool­folk Mus­toe. Ellen lived the last forty-eight years in Rap­pa­han­nock County where she worked as a so­cial worker and a ju­ve­nile pro­ba­tion of­fi­cer. She was a mem­ber of Wash­ing­ton Bap­tist Church and an or­dained min­is­ter of the gospel. She was very in­volved in the com­mu­nity work­ing with The Rap­pa­han­nock Clergy As­so­ci­a­tion, Rap­pa­han­nock Se­nior Cen­ter and Ex­ec­u­tive Com­mit­tee of Rap­pa­han­nock Benev­o­lence Fund. Ellen was a vol­un­teer Chap­lain at Goochland Women’s Fa­cil­ity and served in Kairos and Cross­roads Prison Min­istries. Ellen was a mem­ber of the Board of Trustees for Hope-Tree Fam­ily Ser­vices in Salem, VA. She also en­joyed an­nual mis­sion trips to Cheyenne River Reser­va­tion in South Dakota. She is sur­vived by a sis­ter, Lil­lian Mus­toe Whet­zel of Ster­ling and two brothers, Joseph Ken­neth Mus­toe and wife Bar­bara of Valdese, NC and Rev. Ed­ward H. Mus­toe and wife Colleen of Pflugerville, TX. A grave­side ser­vice will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wed­nes­day Novem­ber 8, 2017 at Maple­wood Ceme­tery in Gor­donsville. A Cel­e­bra­tion of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. at Wash­ing­ton Bap­tist Church with Rev. Wal­ter Chil­dress of­fi­ci­at­ing.
