Ellen Elizabeth Mustoe
Ellen Elizabeth Mustoe, 70, of Washington, Virginia died Saturday November 4, 2017 in Sterling. Born April 9, 1947 in Gordonsville, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Mustoe and Elizabeth Woolfolk Mustoe. Ellen lived the last forty-eight years in Rappahannock County where she worked as a social worker and a juvenile probation officer. She was a member of Washington Baptist Church and an ordained minister of the gospel. She was very involved in the community working with The Rappahannock Clergy Association, Rappahannock Senior Center and Executive Committee of Rappahannock Benevolence Fund. Ellen was a volunteer Chaplain at Goochland Women’s Facility and served in Kairos and Crossroads Prison Ministries. Ellen was a member of the Board of Trustees for Hope-Tree Family Services in Salem, VA. She also enjoyed annual mission trips to Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota. She is survived by a sister, Lillian Mustoe Whetzel of Sterling and two brothers, Joseph Kenneth Mustoe and wife Barbara of Valdese, NC and Rev. Edward H. Mustoe and wife Colleen of Pflugerville, TX. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday November 8, 2017 at Maplewood Cemetery in Gordonsville. A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. at Washington Baptist Church with Rev.
