Meet Otis, who’s all ears

Rappahannock News - - RAWL • ANTIQUES -

Hi, all. I’m a Treeing Walker Coonhound. Name’s Otis, I’m 1 year old, currently weigh 60 pounds, and have spindly legs and not a lot of coordination yet. But when I’m an adult — we’re fully mature at around 18 months of age — I will have grown into my legs and then be more coordinated. Walkers, as we’re called, hunt raccoons primarily. But we also make wonderful pets. We are loving intelligent, and enjoy interacting with humans, including kids. With some training we can even coexist with cats. What’s not to like?

One RAWL dog was adopted this week. The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League (RAWL), 160 Weaver Rd., Amissville, is open 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Closed Wednesday and Sunday. Call 540-937-3283 or visit rawldogs.org.
